LUXURY FLORIDA VILLAS

Shingle Creek Regional Park

This 40 acre parcel provides the current southern terminus of the protected northern section of the Shingle Creek corridor, continuing the unique partnership between the City of Kissimmee, South Florida Water Management District and Florida Communities Trust. This property provides the surrounding neighborhoods the opportunity to immerse in nature, while enjoying passive recreational opportunities. Additionally, the property provides a sanctuary to the state threatened Gopher Tortoise, offering visitors the opportunity to view this unique and vital species.
Gopher tortoises (Gopherus polyphemus) are a medium sized land turtle that uses its shovel-like front legs to dig burrows in sandy soils. St. Clair is home to as many as 57 gopher tortoises, with some of their burrows visible from the trail (look for an elliptical shaped opening with dirt kicked away from the entrance). These burrows provide habitat to 350+ species, making gopher tortoises a "keystone species," meaning the survival of the wildlife community depends on their presence.
